Working to design an agricultural development project on the Atlantic Coast, LINC brought together five NGOs with targeted expertise and experience

LINC’s work to design a project for the development of the agricultural sector on the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua led to identification, screening and signing agreements with five national and regional partner NGOs.

The five organizations are experts in their fields and extremely knowledgeable of the target communities and sectors. In addition to a UNAG, the National Union of Farmers and Ranchers, and CATIE, a regional agricultural research center, LINC met, vetted and selected three partners to focus on sector and community support in each of three target zones of the coast. ADDAC (Association for Diversification and Development of Community Agriculture) has 23 years of experience implementing projects in agricultural value chains in the North Atlantic Coast; IPADE (Institute for Development and Democracy) has specialized in the management of agroforestry systems with an emphasis on cocoa, working in the central Atlantic Coast; and FADCANIC (Foundation for the Autonomy and Development of the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua) has over 20 years of experience promoting development of the Atlantic Region, including establishment of the Wawashang Agroforestry Research Center along the Southern Atlantic Coast.
