LINC is pleased to announce the official launch of LINC Kosovo! In partnership with Global Communities, LINC is launching the new five-year, USAID-funded “Up to Youth” program to increase youth resilience to combat social exclusion and extremism.
LINC team members Patrick Sommerville, Jenna White, and Valon Nushi attended a Kickoff Workshop in Pristina with project partners Global Communities, Moonshot CVE, Peer Education Network (PEN), and NGO Lens (LENS).
Over the next few months LINC will empower youth to understand and use data through Social Network Analysis (SNA). SNA leverages the power of existing networks by identifying and quantifying their reach to and impact on different social groups. LINC will train youth to generate and organize their own data through computerized, visual network maps. These comprehensive network analyses will detail services for youth, including resources for youth to unlock economic and civic opportunities. In training youth to understand and use data, we will equip them with the critical thinking skills needed to recognize when outreach, messages and news stories are not based on facts, which may incite violent extremist tendencies and behaviors.
We’re excited to begin working on this rewarding activity, and LINC will continue to share our progress and results here. Stay tuned!
